Welcome, I am Judy F. Van Norman and I am in the process of moving to Australia with my new employer, Cerner Corporation, this November 2010. I will be joining them as the Clinical Results Executive.
Previous to joining Cerner, I worked for Banner Health System, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona since 1999 as a System Director in Information Technology. During my tenure at Banner, I participated in several strategic planning efforts, which resulted in the creation of the Care Transformation initiative. In April of 2003, I accepted the position of System Director of Care Transformation within the Care Management department.
I led corporate wide initiatives which blend computer technology with redesigned processes, clinical “best practices”, and the cultural acceptance of such changes in order to provide safer, higher quality care to patients.
I was a lead member of the committee responsible for the design and construction of the new facility in West Phoenix, Banner Estrella Medical Center, which opened in 2005 as a “hospital for the future”, employing advanced information technology, including computerized physician order entry. The goal of the initiative I lead was to implement the Care Transformation “franchise model” of clinical care delivery which was used at Banner Estrella in all 20 Banner hospitals.
Prior to joining Banner, I was the Assistant Vice President for Clinical Systems at Memorial Hermann Healthcare in Houston, where I was employed for 17 years. I have over 25 years of healthcare experience, primarily in I/T.
